Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Maycock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Merrick Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maycock comes to the cage accompanied by GG Allin - Hard Candy Cock. Kane is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Blood Sugar - Pendulum. Phil Maycock has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maycock throws out a loose jab but Kane uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kane clinches up against the cage.
Maycock goes for a takedown attempt but Kane pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Maycock misses with a takedown
and Kane counters with a body kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kane.
Maycock is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kane manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Maycock on his heels. He'll look to pass Maycock's guard now, I'm sure.
Kane is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Kane is in close to Maycock's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kane cracks Maycock with a solid left hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like Kane might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maycock wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kane is now in half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Merrick Kane hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Maycock on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
It looks like Phil Maycock has been cut.
Maycock gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kane counters with a series of strikes. Maycock will be more careful next time no doubt.

Maycock has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kane finds it's way round the side to connect with Maycock's head.
Kane drives through and clinches with Maycock against the cage.

Maycock's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Maycock changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kane fights it off and pushes away nicely.
