The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and St Pierre counters with a takedown into side control.
St Pierre is trying to get an arm triangle but Johnson is defending well.
St Pierre tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Johnson tries to bench press St Pierre off him but St Pierre keeps the position.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for St Pierre on the ground.
Johnson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but St Pierre is controlling him well.
St Pierre is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Johnson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Johnson tries to get out of the position.
St Pierre thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

St Pierre has hold of Johnson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Johnson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - St Pierre cranks the arm and Johnson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Johnson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
