PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sebastiaan Hoost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Chavalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoost comes into the arena with Redemption Song blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastiaan Hoost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Chavalo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavalo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hoost lands with a kick to the temple. Chavalo shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
A slapping body kick lands there for Hoost.
Hoost wants to slow Chavalo down by chopping away at his legs.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Chavalo lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hoost has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hoost and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Hoost throws a lazy body kick

and Chavalo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hoost's guard.
Chavalo throwing strikes from guard but Hoost blocks nicely.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chavalo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hoost had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chavalo defends it easily.

Chavalo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hoost works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Chavalo postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Hoost utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hoost is pulling down on Chavalo's head. It's preventing any offense from Chavalo, at least for the moment.
Hoost's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hoost has his feet on Chavalo's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Hoost throws a leg kick that is checked
and Chavalo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hoost swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Chavalo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hoost won't be happy with that.
Hoost wants to get back to his feet.
Hoost is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Chavalo's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Chavalo working over Hoost with some ground and pound. Hoost looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Hoost is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Chavalo trying to control the action but Hoost is working from the bottom.
Hoost is trying to maintain the position but Chavalo is very close to passing his half guard.

Chavalo thows a huge punch but Hoost dodges it nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Chavalo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Chavalo is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Hoost wants to control but Chavalo is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Chavalo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hoost knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Chavalo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Chavalo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hoost.

and Chavalo counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Chavalo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hoost wants to get back to his feet but Chavalo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Hoost pivots, looking for a leg kick but Chavalo is out of range and Hoost settles back down.

Hoost buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Chavalo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Hoost.
Hoost drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Chavalo gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Chavalo gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Hoost regains guard.
Chavalo chips away with some ground and pound.
Hoost is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Hoost is really struggling to control Chavalo but he's trying to hold on to the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

George Chavalo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Hoost thows a leg kick but Chavalo checks it
and Chavalo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Chavalo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hoost was covering up waiting for the punch and Chavalo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Chavalo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Chavalo won't allow Hoost to get back to his feet.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hoost holds on and takes a little breather.

Hoost wants to stand but Chavalo is controlling the position.

Hoost is adopting a defensive guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sebastiaan Hoost wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Hoost. Chavalo shrugs it off though.

and Chavalo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hoost thinking.

Hoost takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

and Chavalo counters with a big head kick but Hoost shrugs it off.

A punch lands to the side of Hoost 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Sebastiaan Hoost is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Chavalo throws a right and a left that Hoost avoids nicely.
Hoost with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hoost connects with a body shot.
Hoost moves into range and connects with a jab.
Sebastiaan Hoost seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hoost fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Chavalo is out of range.
A low kick from Hoost misses
and Chavalo counters with a stiff right hand.
Hoost misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hoost throws a nice inside leg kick.
Hoost does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hoost misses with a low kick.
A low kick from Hoost is predictable there
and Chavalo counters with a nice body shot.
Chavalo takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
BOOM! Chavalo connects with a massive shot to the dome!

George Chavalo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Chavalo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
