The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope slips a jab from Fluke.
Fluke throws an off balance right hand
and Pope counters with a straight right hand.
Pope just misses with a punch to the body.
Fluke throws a lazy uppercut
and Pope counters with an outside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fluke buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Fluke throws out a loose jab but Pope uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Fluke throws a front kick aimed at Pope's knee but Pope avoids it well.
Good work by Pope as he checks the leg kick.
A low kick from Pope is predictable there
and Fluke counters with a good low kick that Pope was not able to check.
Pope lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fluke misses with a hook to the body
and Pope counters with a right hand to the body.
Good standup being displayed there by Fluke as he connects with a hook.
Fluke throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Pope to counter with a crisp jab.
Pope sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pope uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fluke.
The fighters circling - Pope throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Pope rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Fluke counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Fluke gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pope motions for Fluke to come forward. Pope throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Pope tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Fluke manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pope throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Fluke counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Fluke dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Pope throws a poor cross that misses
and Fluke counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A slapping leg kick lands for Fluke.
Fluke misses with a leg kick
and Pope counters with a left and a right that stings Fluke.
Fluke throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pope counters with a stiff right hand.
Pope misses with a body shot
and Fluke counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Fluke takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Pope goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Pope with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Pope takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
It looks like Luther Pope has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pope takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Pope misses with a shot to the body
and Fluke counters with a straight right hand.
Pope is rocked!
Fluke has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Pope misses with a hook to the body
letting Fluke counter with a right hand.
Pope is still on wobbly legs! Can Fluke finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pope misses with a lunging right hand
and Fluke scores with a counter punch that sends Pope to the canvas! Fluke smells blood - he's punishing Pope with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Pope has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
