Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordon Lefleaur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lefleaur is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by La Marseillaise. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gordon Lefleaur was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy McDonald! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gordon Lefleaur! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McDonald lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lefleaur circles away quickly and effectively. Lefleaur throws a lazy right hand but McDonald sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Lefleaur swings widly with a right hand
and McDonald counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Lefleaur shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. McDonald eats them both and turns towards Lefleaur to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. McDonald fails with the takedown. Lefleaur looks to score with a jab to the body but McDonald is just out of range. McDonald misses the body punch and Lefleaur counters with a lovely straight right hand! Lefleaur dodges the punch combination from McDonald.
Lefleaur throws an overhand right that lands on McDonald's shoulder, as McDonald tries to avoid the shot. McDonald thows a body shot but no joy. McDonald will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A looping hook to the body misses from McDonald. Lefleaur does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lefleaur ducks under a wild hook from McDonald. McDonald throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lefleaur misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McDonald.
Lefleaur cracks a nice hook into McDonald's ribs. McDonald looks to score with a jab to the body but Lefleaur is just out of range. Lefleaur tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and McDonald is able to avoid easily. Lefleaur tries to clinch but McDonald is having none of it. McDonald is looking to wear down Lefleaur with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Lefleaur lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McDonald on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lefleaur. Lefleaur obviously looking to wear him down.
Lefleaur swings widly with a right hand
and McDonald decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lefleaur's guard. McDonald pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lefleaur is keeping the position for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lefleaur can do anything to dispel that myth. McDonald pushes down on Lefleaur's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McDonald content to control rather than advance. McDonald trying to pass the guard but Lefleaur defending well. McDonald scoring with strikes to the body and head. Lefleaur really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McDonald. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McDonald is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lefleaur doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McDonald. McDonald wants to free his trapped foot but Lefleaur is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lefleaur is trying to stand back up but McDonald is controlling him
McDonald seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lefleaur does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Lefleaur is trying to stand up here but McDonald is controlling him well. Lefleaur keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. McDonald trying to pass the guard but Lefleaur defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lefleaur is trying to stand.
McDonald thows a huge punch but Lefleaur dodges it nicely.
McDonald not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. McDonald wants to take a breather but Lefleaur is having none of it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. McDonald scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Lefleaur throws an off balance right hand
and McDonald counters with a nice uppercut. Lefleaur avoids a lazy jab quite easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Gordon Lefleaur will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
McDonald doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Lefleaur steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McDonald. Lefleaur keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Lefleaur takes a shot right to the bread basket. McDonald fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Lefleaur uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McDonald has time to react. McDonald shoots in for a takedown but Lefleaur shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Lefleaur moves away from the strike by McDonald. Lefleaur misses the shot to the body. Lefleaur defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McDonald. Lefleaur cracks a nice hook into McDonald's ribs. McDonald steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lefleaur.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDonald takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A slow jab from McDonald misses its intended target. McDonald gets a takedown into half guard. McDonald throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Lefleaur is staying active underneath McDonald, who seems content to just control the action from this position. McDonald is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lefleaur defends it well. Lefleaur trying to control but McDonald postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lefleaur keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. McDonald seems to be looking for submissions.
McDonald has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McDonald thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McDonald wants to pass the guard but Lefleaur is defending well. McDonald missing with the ground and pound from half guard. McDonald is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lefleaur sees it coming and defends easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDonald lands with a punch from half guard. McDonald is looking to advance position but Lefleaur won't allow it. McDonald seems to be working for a kimura but Lefleaur defends the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. McDonald wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lefleaur keeps working. McDonald is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Lefleaur is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
