Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Derek Acevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kit Siores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Siores has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek Acevedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kit Siores! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Siores swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Acevedo counters with a single leg into guard. Siores didn't expect that. Siores looks gassed! Siores being controlled here, momentarily. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Siores preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Acevedo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Acevedo wants to control from the top but Siores keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Derek Acevedo just wasn't active enough. Acevedo blocks a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Siores tries to keep at a distance but Acevedo has taken the fight into the clinch. Acevedo looking for a takedown. Acevedo breaks from the clinch.
Acevedo wants to clinch up but Siores keeps it at a distance. The fight moves into the clinch position. Acevedo landing knees to the body.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Acevedo. Acevedo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Siores has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Acevedo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Acevedo moves in looking to clinch but Siores pushes him off. No luck for Acevedo with that takedown attempt. Siores throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Acevedo tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Siores is in Acevedo's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Acevedo can't keep his opponent in guard - Siores advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Acevedo wants to get back to his feet.
Siores wants to lay and pray for a moment but Acevedo keeps working. Acevedo tries to roll over but Siores keeps him under control. It looks like Siores is going to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Siores trying to pass the guard but Acevedo defending well. Acevedo works his way to full guard. Good work. Siores throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Siores tries to free his leg and advance position but Acevedo is retaining full guard. Siores must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Acevedo wants to stand and escape but Siores is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Acevedo keeping moving, preventing Siores from controlling successfully. Siores is looking to advance position but Acevedo has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Siores is desperately trying to improve his position but Acevedo has a good base and remains in mount. Acevedo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Siores hang on? Siores can't escape the position.
Siores tries to lock up and control but Acevedo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Acevedo content just to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derek Acevedo dominated that round. That's time! Acevedo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Siores fails with an attempt to clinch.
Siores throws a right and a left that both miss. Acevedo gets a double leg takedown into Siores's guard. Siores throws his legs up looking for a submission but Acevedo uses it to pass to side control.
Acevedo tries to move to mount but Siores blocks the move with his legs. Siores is not content to let Acevedo control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Siores wants to control but Acevedo postures up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Acevedo cracks Siores with a big right hand but Siores just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Siores tries to bench press Acevedo off him but Acevedo keeps the position. Siores taking a bit of punishment here - Acevedo scoring with strikes. Acevedo working the head with strikes. Acevedo decides to stand back up. Acevedo steps back and let's Siores get back to his feet. Siores takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Derek Acevedo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Siores moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Siores gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Acevedo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Siores's guard now. Siores is pulling down on Acevedo's head. It's preventing any offense from Acevedo, at least for the moment. Acevedo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Acevedo trying to control but Siores is working from the bottom. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Siores holds on and takes a little breather. Acevedo pushes down on Siores's leg and manages to get into half guard. Acevedo working over Siores with some ground and pound. Siores looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Acevedo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Acevedo is stalling here. Siores is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Acevedo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Siores has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Siores avoids the strikes from the bottom by Acevedo. Acevedo struggling a bit here. Siores landing a few strikes. Siores goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Acevedo rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Siores's guard! Nice work there by Acevedo!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Siores utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Siores is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Acevedo tries to free his leg and advance position but Siores is retaining full guard. Acevedo postures up in Siores's guard and throws a big left but Siores blocks it. Siores trying to control the position.
Acevedo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Acevedo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Siores sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Siores tries to clinch up. Siores with a lazy takedown attempt and Acevedo counters with a single leg into guard. Siores didn't expect that. Acevedo is looking to work some ground and pound but Siores has wrist control. Acevedo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Siores's head. Siores wants to control but Acevedo passes easily into half guard.
Acevedo stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Siores to get to his feet. Derek Acevedo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Acevedo gets off balance looking for a body kick and Acevedo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Acevedo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Acevedo wants it to stay on the feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Acevedo ducks under a wild hook from Siores. Acevedo digs a good body shot into Siores's ribs. Siores shoots in but Acevedo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Derek Acevedo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kit Siores.
That's one minute gone in the round. Acevedo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Siores looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Acevedo advances to full mount. Siores is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Acevedo trying to control but Siores is having none of it. Siores wants to control but Acevedo is having none of it. Acevedo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Siores looks a forlorn figure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Siores taking shots to the head. Acevedo connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Siores flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Acevedo swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
