Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Lagman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ivan Lagman!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lagman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cox tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Lagman counters with a body kick that stops Cox in his tracks momentarily.
Cox fails with the takedown

and Lagman counters with a single leg into guard. Cox didn't expect that.
Lagman wants to control from the top but Cox keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Lagman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Ivan Lagman has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Cox tries to close the distance and clinch but Lagman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cox wants to clinch

and Lagman counters by moving into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Cox's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Cox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cox misses with a takedown attempt

and Lagman counters with a single leg into guard. Cox didn't expect that.

Lagman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cox, up you get!
Cox doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lagman counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Cox is lucky that one didn't land flush.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Cox. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lagman rushes Cox and presses him up against the cage.
Lagman wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Cox.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lagman is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Cox pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Cox breaks from the clinch.
Cox closes the distance but Lagman moves to the side

and Lagman counters with a takedown into side control.
Cox prevents Lagman from moving into mount.
Cox is not content to let Lagman control the position.

Lagman tries for a kimura but Cox is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cox dodges the ground and pound from Lagman.
Lagman wants to stand but Cox is controlling his arm.
Lagman wants to control but Cox is keeping him busy.
Lagman should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Lagman sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cox is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lagman wants to control for a moment but Cox uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lagman is trying to control. Cox wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lagman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan Lagman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Cox moves into the clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Cox.

Cox breaks the clinch.

Lagman gets a double leg takedown into Cox's guard.
Lagman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cox swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lagman trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Cox manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Cox decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lagman, up you get!
Cox shoots in for a takedown but Lagman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Lagman lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Cox with a poor takedown

and Lagman counters with a shoot takedown. Cox fights it but they end up in guard.
Lagman trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cox's guard.
Lagman is breathing heavily.
Cox wants to stand up but Lagman is controlling him.

Cox manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Cox fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Cox. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Lagman counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Cox's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lagman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cox to the mat! Cox manages to get full guard.

Lagman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cox is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cox has escaped and now he's on top!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cox has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Cox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lagman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cox somewhat.

Lagman wants to control from the top but Cox keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nice takedown defense from Cox. No joy for Lagman on that attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan Lagman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Cox misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cox shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lagman counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cox!
Cox is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Lagman jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cox is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cox and Lagman has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Lagman working the strikes but Cox uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Cox tries to kick Lagman off but Lagman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Cox keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ivan Lagman has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lagman prevents Cox from standing back up.
Lagman is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Sean Cox has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lagman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cox swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lagman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lagman controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lagman stands up over Cox, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Cox pushes Lagman off and scrambles back to his feet.

Lagman looking to sit in guard and control but Cox gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cox gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ivan Lagman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lagman slips a straight right by Cox.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ivan Lagman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Lagman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
