Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Sinister! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sinister keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Sinister should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Davis fails to land the takedown. Davis looks to land a combination but Sinister avoids it well. Sinister shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Davis's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sinister stopping the sweep attempt from Davis. Sinister postures up in Davis's guard and throws a big left but Davis blocks it. Sinister pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Davis is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis pulls Sinister in close to prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davis looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Davis seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Sinister wants to control from the top but Davis keeps moving. Sinister postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sinister slips a jab and a cross from Davis.
Davis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Davis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Sinister has eaten all the pies! Sinister tries to lock up and control but Davis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Sinister is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sinister tries to hold on but Davis postures up. Sinister is bucking up trying to escape but Davis cracks him with another couple of good strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sinister can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis content just to control the position here. Davis trying to control but Sinister is having none of it. Sinister wants to control but Davis is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sinister working to try and regain half guard.
Davis controlling the position easily from mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sinister keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Sinister tries for a takedown but Davis circles away easily and Davis counters with a nice double leg into guard. Sinister wants to stand and escape but Davis is having none of it. Davis showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Davis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Davis won't allow Sinister to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis passes Sinister's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Davis has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Davis controlling from the full mount. Sinister is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Davis looking to control and managing it successfully. Sinister tries to hold on but Davis postures up. Davis lands with some strikes. Sinister keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Sinister is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis trying to control but he's not successful this time. Davis controlling his opponent.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Johnny Davis just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Davis is looking to clinch but Sinister is avoiding it.
Johnny Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davis fails with the takedown and Sinister counters with a single leg into guard. Davis didn't expect that. Davis pulls Sinister in close to prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis keeping full guard, as Sinister tries to pass. Davis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Davis is trying to keep Sinister in close.
Sinister wants to control from the top but Davis keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Davis dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Sinister scores a takedown into full mount! Davis tries to get back to half guard but can't. Davis tries to hold on but Sinister postures up. Sinister trying to control but Davis is having none of it. Davis is trying to escape the mount.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Davis is squirming around, avoiding Sinister's attempts to control the action. Sinister moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Davis has worked his arm free - good work by Davis!

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sinister throws a strike aimed at the side of Davis's head but Davis avoids it well. Sinister controlling the position from side mount. Davis is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sinister's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Davis gets back to full guard.
Sinister is looking to stand up but Davis won't let him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis tries to land a sweep but no joy. Davis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Davis is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Davis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sinister! Davis content just to control the position here. Sinister keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Davis controlling from mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Johnny Davis showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Davis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
