The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clarkson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kolos napping and manages to drive through into side control! Clarkson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kolos knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kolos struggling a bit here. Clarkson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kolos is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Clarkson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Clarkson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's one minute gone in the round. Clarkson is looking for a kimura but Kolos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Clarkson to get the leverage. Clarkson is working for a submission of some sort.
Kolos gets full guard. Clarkson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kolos is keeping the position for now. Clarkson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kolos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kolos has escaped and now he's on top! He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Clarkson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Clarkson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kolos defends it easily. Clarkson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kolos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kolos seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clarkson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kolos defends well. Clarkson has his foot on Kolos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kolos works his way back into a safe position though. Kolos controlling from the top position. Kolos is breathing heavily. Clarkson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Kolos stands and throws Clarkson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Clarkson tries to improve position but can't. Kolos is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Clarkson's shoulder. That is not cool. Clarkson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kolos off and has taken his back! Kolos showing good submission defense here.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kolos defends it well. Clarkson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kolos doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Clarkson. Clarkson maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Kolos could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Clarkson has cracked it and Kolos is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Clarkson!
