Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikolay Ivanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasha Zamiatin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zamiatin has chosen Tuvinian Singing as his entrance music. Nikolay Ivanov has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolay Ivanov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sasha Zamiatin! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zamiatin closes the distance looking to clinch and Ivanov counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Zamiatin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ivanov moves into the clinch. Ivanov digs a right hand underneath Zamiatin's ribcage. Zamiatin let out a lung full of air as it connected. Ivanov goes for a takedown attempt but Zamiatin pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Zamiatin dodges the punch combination from Ivanov.
Ivanov shoots in for a takedown but Zamiatin shows good takedown defense.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ivanov throws a series of punches but Zamiatin avoids them all with ease. Ivanov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Zamiatin is on top in guard.
Ivanov controls Zamiatin momentarily but Zamiatin frees himself. Zamiatin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Zamiatin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Zamiatin thows a big elbow that misses. Zamiatin wanted to stand there but Ivanov had control of the position. Ivanov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ivanov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Zamiatin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ivanov working for submissions but it's allowed Zamiatin to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ivanov is looking to escape. Zamiatin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Zamiatin wants to work for an arm triangle but Ivanov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Zamiatin wants to pass the guard but Ivanov is defending well. Zamiatin is trying to control. Ivanov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ivanov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zamiatin on the ground. Zamiatin tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ivanov controls his leg. Zamiatin prevents Ivanov from improving his position. Zamiatin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ivanov regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ivanov trying to keep a closed guard but Zamiatin is proving a slippery customer.
Zamiatin pushes down on Ivanov's leg and manages to get into half guard. Zamiatin sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ivanov defending well though. Zamiatin passes to full mount! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ivanov is trying to escape the mount.
Zamiatin scoring with strikes but Ivanov is staying in there. Zamiatin prevents Ivanov from getting the reversal. Ivanov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Zamiatin has hold of Ivanov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ivanov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Ivanov is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ivanov wants to try and get back to his feet. Zamiatin prevents Ivanov from getting the reversal. Ivanov regains half guard. Ivanov is breathing heavily. Ivanov tries to roll over but Zamiatin keeps him under control. Zamiatin postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Ivanov to stand up. Zamiatin fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A nice combination there by Ivanov.
Ivanov dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Zamiatin. That did some damage! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Sasha Zamiatin will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Zamiatin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ivanov defends it nicely. Ivanov works over Zamiatin's head and body with a nice combination. Ivanov tries to clinch up but Zamiatin circles away and keeps his distance. Zamiatin misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Ivanov counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Ivanov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Zamiatin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ivanov won't be happy with that. Ivanov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zamiatin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Zamiatin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ivanov has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zamiatin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Zamiatin is breathing heavily. Zamiatin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ivanov has escaped the position, nice work there. Zamiatin wants to control but Ivanov is keeping him busy. Ivanov pushes Zamiatin away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Zamiatin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Ivanov is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Zamiatin off and has taken his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ivanov misses with a punch to the head. Zamiatin breaks Ivanov's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Zamiatin won't allow Ivanov to sweep him here. Zamiatin prevents Ivanov from getting back to his feet. Ivanov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Zamiatin advances position into side control! Ivanov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zamiatin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Zamiatin is looking to take a break and control but Ivanov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ivanov is trying to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zamiatin has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ivanov is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Zamiatin yanks on the arm and Ivanov is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Zamiatin.
