Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pyyno Janis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Cordoba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Janis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rubber Johnny. Cordoba has chosen English Fire by CoF as his entrance music. Alex Cordoba has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Pyyno Janis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Cordoba! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Janis throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Cordoba tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Janis paws at him with a jab and circles away. Cordoba throws a combination that misses and Janis counters with a good low kick that Cordoba was not able to check. Janis tries for a takedown but Cordoba sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Janis looks to throw a body kick and Cordoba cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Janis tries to score with a low kick but Cordoba moves his leg out of the way.
That's one minute gone in the round. Janis keeps the fight on the outside. Janis tried to score with a low kick but Cordoba checks it. Cordoba lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Cordoba lands a jab to the head.

Good work by Cordoba as he checks the leg kick. Janis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cordoba as he avoids it easily. Cordoba throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Janis sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Janis throws a head kick that misses. Janis takes a shot right to the bread basket. Janis misses with an attempted mid kick.
Cordoba tries to close the distance and clinch up but Janis swats him away and circles back towards the center. Janis throws a nice outside leg kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Janis shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pyyno Janis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big left from Cordoba misses. Cordoba with a nice cross. Janis fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Cordoba checks it well. Cordoba lands an overhand right. Cordoba dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Janis throws a lazy head kick and Cordoba counters with a lovely straight right hand! Janis misses with a takedown and Cordoba counters with a left to the body. Janis is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Janis drives through with a takedown into Cordoba's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Janis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cordoba is keeping the position for now. Janis is looking to advance position but Cordoba has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Janis wants to control but Cordoba is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cordoba controlling the pace for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Janis. Janis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cordoba throws out the jab. Cordoba instigates a clinch. Cordoba tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Janis is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cordoba can't fight it off and eventually Janis manages to take the fight to the floor. Cordoba looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Janis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cordoba is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Janis is working hard here to advance position. Janis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cordoba dives on top into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Janis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Janis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cordoba misses with a straight right. Janis throws a solid leg kick but Cordoba takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Janis. Janis throws a leg kick but Cordoba moved away. A looping hook to the body misses from Cordoba. Janis does a little dance to reset his feet. Cordoba tries to clinch but Janis moves away and Janis counters with a low kick, right behind Cordoba 's knee.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Janis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Janis looks to throw a body kick and Cordoba counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Cordoba blocks a head kick by Janis.

Janis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cordoba napping and manages to drive through into side control! Janis working the ground and pound but Cordoba is defending the strikes. Janis tries to move to mount but Cordoba blocks the move with his legs. Cordoba is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Janis throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Janis tries to score with some ground and pound. Cordoba controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Janis wants to control but Cordoba is keeping him busy. Cordoba really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Janis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Janis looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cordoba is avoiding damage well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cordoba is not in a great position here, taking some shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pyyno Janis dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Janis throws a leg kick but Cordoba sees it coming and moves out of range. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Cordoba. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Cordoba looks to land a right hand but Janis moved out of range. Cordoba punishes Janis's body with a nice straight punch. Janis moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

so Janis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Cordoba keeping moving, preventing Janis from controlling successfully. Janis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Janis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Janis is in close to Cordoba's body, working some short punches and elbows. Janis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cordoba works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Janis wants to control from the top but Cordoba keeps moving. Janis passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Janis drops an elbow to the side of Cordoba's head. Janis maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Cordoba could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Janis has cracked it and Cordoba is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Janis!
