LaRusso is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: You're The Best!. Harry Hammer has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hammer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. LaRusso sprawls well initially but Hammer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hammer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hammer not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hammer thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing LaRusso to regain full guard.
LaRusso keeping moving, preventing Hammer from controlling successfully.
Hammer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because LaRusso is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Hammer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hammer trying to control but LaRusso is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Harry Hammer just wasn't active enough.
LaRusso misses the shot to the body.
LaRusso tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
LaRusso tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
LaRusso throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hammer takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
LaRusso looks to land a body kick but Hammer moved away.

Hammer throws an ugly left hook that misses
and LaRusso counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hammer's knee momentarily.
LaRusso misses with a low kick.
Hammer scores with a punch to the head.
LaRusso tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hammer is able to avoid easily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hammer, as that shot connected.
LaRusso turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
LaRusso throws a sloppy body shot
letting Hammer counter with a right hand.
LaRusso scores with a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hammer jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A kick lands to the mid section there for LaRusso.
LaRusso lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Hammer pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
LaRusso thuds his shin into the meat of Hammer's side.
LaRusso throws a sloppy head kick and Hammer moves out of range easily.
Hammer takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
LaRusso fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hammer manages to avoid it.
LaRusso lands a right hook to the body.
Hammer is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
LaRusso throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
LaRusso throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
LaRusso jabs at Hammer's body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

LaRusso lands a big head kick that sends Hammer tumbling to the mat! LaRusso takes a step backwards and waves Hammer back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Hammer is rocked!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

LaRusso lands a brutal head kick. Hammer looks out on his feet and LaRusso throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
