PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Rahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billiary Sclerosis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard Rahl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billiary Sclerosis!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rahl takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A head kick by Sclerosis misses

and Rahl counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Rahl wants to control but Sclerosis is keeping him busy.
Sclerosis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rahl. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rahl is looking for a kimura but Sclerosis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rahl to get the leverage.
Rahl is looking to take a break and control but Sclerosis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rahl seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Rahl stalling away here and it's allowed Sclerosis to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Sclerosis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rahl thows a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rahl trying to control but Sclerosis is working from the bottom.

Rahl with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rahl's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Rahl throwing strikes but missing.
Rahl stands up over Sclerosis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Rahl decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sclerosis, up you get!
Sclerosis throws a sloppy head kick and Rahl moves out of range easily.

Rahl is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sclerosis's half guard.

Rahl decides to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rahl shoots in and gets a takedown into Sclerosis's guard.
Sclerosis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sclerosis looks gassed!

Rahl is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rahl is looking to work some ground and pound but Sclerosis has wrist control.
Rahl throws and elbow that misses. Sclerosis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rahl's guard. Nice move by Sclerosis!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rahl looking for a sweep. Not yet Rahl, not yet.
Rahl has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Rahl escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sclerosis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rahl seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Richard Rahl has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Rahl closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sclerosis to the mat! Sclerosis manages to get full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richard Rahl dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Rahl closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rahl lands in his opponent's guard.
Rahl is looking to work some ground and pound but Sclerosis has wrist control.
Rahl loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Rahl stays in close to Sclerosis's body and controls the position.

Rahl drops back looking for a leg! Sclerosis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sclerosis manages to kick Rahl off! Rahl jumps back into Sclerosis's guard.

Rahl drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sclerosis dives on top into guard.
Rahl has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sclerosis is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rahl pushes Sclerosis off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Rahl has Sclerosis up against the cage in a clinch.

Rahl manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sclerosis won't allow Rahl to get back to his feet.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rahl holds on and takes a little breather.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Richard Rahl.
Sclerosis does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Rahl shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Rahl lands a big elbow.


It looks like Billiary Sclerosis has been cut.
Rahl throws some wild stikes that Sclerosis manages to avoid easily.
Rahl trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sclerosis is in a horrible position here. Rahl smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Sclerosis in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Rahl raining down hammerfists from mount.
Rahl scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Sclerosis?

The cut above Billiary Sclerosis's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rahl sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Rahl is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sclerosis is surviving well by controlling Rahl's body position as best he can.
Rahl lands a big elbow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rahl scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Sclerosis?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Billiary Sclerosis's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Rahl has a takedown stuffed.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Billiary Sclerosis's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Richard Rahl!
