Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Pain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kim Possible! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pain misses with a takedown and Possible holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Pain is trying to drag Possible to the mat but Possible just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Possible lands an uppercut. Possible stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Pain tries to score a body lock takedown but Possible shows good agility there to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him. Possible gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pain works his way to full guard. Good work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pain looking to hit a scissor sweep but Possible is one step ahead there. Possible working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Pain bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Possible's guard. Pain might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Possible looks gassed! Possible working a defensive guard here.
Pain advances position into side control! Pain working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Possible dodges the ground and pound from Pain.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pain is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Possible is trying to escape and Pain transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Possible is forced to tap! Nice work there by Pain! Very nice indeed!
