Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hank Moody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hank Moody! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brandon Perkins! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moody tries to clinch but fails miserably and Perkins counters with a three punch combo that has Moody backing up. Moody nods at Perkins to acknowledge the strikes. Moody tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Perkins cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Moody moves to clinch but Perkins breaks away and Perkins counters with a nice body shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Moody lands with a thumping leg kick.
Perkins misses with a looping left. A looping hook to the body misses from Perkins. Moody does a little dance to reset his feet. Perkins swings widly with a right hand
and Moody counters with a shoot takedown. Perkins fights it but they end up in guard. Moody postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Moody advances to half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Moody connects with a nice short shot to Perkins's temple.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moody with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Moody is trying to control the action in half guard but Perkins is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moody moves nicely into side control. Moody is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Perkins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Moody throws a strike aimed at the side of Perkins's head but Perkins avoids it well. Perkins looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Moody. Moody is putting a hurting on Perkins here, landing some big shots from side control. Moody tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Moody creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Perkins sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Moody throws a strike aimed at the side of Perkins's head but Perkins avoids it well. Perkins takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Moody has an Americana. Perkins didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Moody is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Moody hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Hank Moody!
