Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jin Sen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Lee Rappaport (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sen comes to the ring accompanied by AC/DC - TNT. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Sen! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Lee Rappaport! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Sen. Horrible takedown by Rappaport or perhaps it was just good defense by Sen which made him look bad. Johnny Lee Rappaport seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sen lands a really nice looking cross but Rappaport seems unphased.
It looks like Johnny Lee Rappaport has been cut. Rappaport slips a jab and a cross from Sen.
Sen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rappaport moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rappaport throws a front kick aimed at Sen's knee but Sen avoids it well. Sen gets caught napping as Rappaport dives in and scores a takedown. Sen manages to retain guard. Rappaport throws a strike but Sen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rappaport is on top in guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rappaport throws a big right hand that misses. Rappaport postures up in Sen's guard and throws a big left but Sen blocks it. Rappaport loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sen wants to get back to his feet but Rappaport is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rappaport keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sen's head. Rappaport throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sen uses the ropes to get back to his feet.
Sen throws a head kick that misses and Rappaport counters with a takedown into side control. Rappaport is looking to take a break and control but Sen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rappaport misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sen throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Rappaport shoots and misses and Rappaport takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A momentary lapse in concentration from Sen enables Rappaport to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Rappaport throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sen keeping moving, preventing Rappaport from controlling successfully. Rappaport looking to pass the guard. Sen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Rappaport has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rappaport loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rappaport stops Sen from standing up. Rappaport wants to control from the top but Sen keeps moving. Sen being controlled here, momentarily. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. That's five minutes gone in the round. Rappaport working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sen's head. Rappaport throws a strike but Sen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Rappaport wants to control but Sen passes easily into half guard.
Rappaport is trying to get back to full guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sen wants to stand but Rappaport has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Rappaport is looking to control Sen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rappaport avoid being mounted? Rappaport pushes Sen off looking to stand but Sen dives back in and keeps control.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Sen wants to stand but Rappaport has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Sen prevents Rappaport from improving his position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sen leaves Rappaport with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jin Sen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Lee Rappaport. Sen throws an overhand right that lands on Rappaport's shoulder, as Rappaport tries to avoid the shot. Rappaport tries for a takedown but Sen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rappaport slips a straight right by Sen. Rappaport tries to clinch up. Sen wants to clinch and Rappaport counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Rappaport throwing shots but Sen is blocking nicely. Rappaport wants to take a breather but Sen is having none of it. Rappaport is just content to waste time from the top position. Sen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Rappaport thows a big elbow that misses.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Rappaport trying to control but Sen is working from the bottom. Rappaport keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sen's head. Sen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rappaport is controlling him. Rappaport throws and elbow that misses. Sen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rappaport's guard. Nice move by Sen! Sen is looking to stand up but Rappaport won't let him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Lee Rappaport dominated that round. The cut man is working on Johnny Lee Rappaport's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.
No luck for Rappaport with that takedown attempt. Sen thows a left - swing and a miss! Rappaport will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Sen misses the jab. Rappaport tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sen swivels and escapes. Jin Sen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Lee Rappaport. Rappaport is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sen takes a swing at Rappaport's ribcage but misses. Sen fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Sen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rappaport circles away quickly and effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sen lands with a cross. Sen throws a jab when Rappaport was well out of range. Sen throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rappaport counters by clinching up. Rappaport changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sen fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Rappaport is rocked! I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Sen has cracked Rappaport with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Sen lands another huge swinging hook and Rappaport tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Rappaport, before Sen can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jin Sen! Jin Sen retains his lightweight title!
