The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaremba misses with a double jab
and Zaremba takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Zaremba swings away with a body shot that misses
and Birchum counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The fight stays on the outside here - Zaremba looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Zaremba shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Birchum pinned against the cage. Birchum gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Zaremba gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Zaremba tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Zaremba connects with a nasty looking knee right to Birchum's face.
Birchum prevents a takedown attempt there.
Mister Birchum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pawel Zaremba.

Birchum is trying to drag Zaremba to the mat but Zaremba just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
A frustrated look appears on Zaremba's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Zaremba is trying to push Birchum away but Birchum has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Birchum has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Zaremba avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Birchum wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Zaremba has him pressed against the cage.

Zaremba gets control of Birchum's arms and successfully pulls guard. Zaremba will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Birchum stands and steps away. Zaremba gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Birchum lands a big right hook! Zaremba looks hurt but is still standing! Birchum lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Zaremba falls down and Birchum dives in with a huge hammer fist! Zaremba's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Birchum runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
