Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Malchik Spalchik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Vertudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spalchik gets a takedown into half guard.
Vertudo wants to control but Spalchik is keeping busy.
Vertudo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Spalchik.

Vertudo works his way to full guard. Good work.
Spalchik controls from within his opponent's guard.
Spalchik with a flurry of punches that miss.
Spalchik tries to free his leg and advance position but Vertudo is retaining full guard.
Vertudo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Spalchik stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vertudo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Spalchik wants to control from the top but Vertudo keeps moving.
Vertudo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Spalchik manages to get himself to full guard.
Vertudo won't allow Spalchik to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spalchik looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Spalchik might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Vertudo wants to control from the top but Spalchik keeps moving.

Vertudo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vertudo lands in his opponent's guard.
Vertudo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spalchik swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vertudo drops back looking for a leg! Spalchik is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spalchik manages to kick Vertudo off! Vertudo jumps back into Spalchik's guard.

Spalchik tries to hold on but Vertudo pushes him away.
Spalchik is desperately trying to improve his position but Vertudo has a good base and remains in mount.

Vertudo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Vertudo has control of Spalchik's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Spalchik regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Vertudo is working for a guillotine from mount but Spalchik frees his head quite easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Vertudo counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Vertudo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Spalchik escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vertudo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Vertudo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vertudo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Vertudo is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Vertudo pushes down on Spalchik's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Fabricio Vertudo has got the better of the ground game so far.
Vertudo decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Spalchik gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Vertudo counters with an inside leg kick.
Vertudo feints and as Spalchik raises his hands in defense, Vertudo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Spalchik could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Vertudo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Spalchik has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vertudo has managed to get both his arms back between Spalchik's legs - danger averted.

Spalchik controls Vertudo momentarily but Vertudo frees himself.
Vertudo controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Vertudo is pushing down on Spalchik's leg trying to pass to half guard. Spalchik is fighting to maintain full guard but Vertudo has managed to sneak the leg through.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Still in half guard, Vertudo seems content to control.
Vertudo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Spalchik is just riding it out for now. Vertudo eventually gives up the hold.

Vertudo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Spalchik does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Vertudo works his foot free and advances to mount.
Spalchik wants to hold on but Vertudo pushes him away.
Vertudo lands with some strikes.
Spalchik is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Vertudo locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Spalchik is forced to tap!
