Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roger Huerta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Toshiki Saram! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Huerta fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Saram looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Huerta scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Huerta scores with a three punch combo!
Huerta fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Saram, pushing him back against the cage. A bit of stalling here from Huerta.
Saram misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A knee to the head by Huerta.
Saram is trying to break free. Saram is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Huerta lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Toshiki Saram has been cut. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Huerta takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Huerta connects with a nasty looking knee right to Saram's face.
Huerta breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Huerta lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Huerta connects with a leg kick. Saram looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Saram with a poor takedown and Huerta makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Huerta has closed the distance and engaged Saram in a clinch.
Huerta escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Saram tries for a takedown but Huerta circles away easily and Huerta makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saram throws a head kick that misses and Huerta counters with a three punch combo that has Saram backing up. Saram nods at Huerta to acknowledge the strikes. Saram looks gassed! Huerta closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Saram is rocked! Huerta feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sarams jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Saram is still on wobbly legs! Can Huerta finish him? Saram takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Huerta scores with a shot to the body.
Huerta throws a front kick that sends Saram stumbling back into the cage. Saram seems to have recovered his senses. Huerta drops Saram with a beautiful combination! Saram stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Huerta is looking for the KO! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Saram throws a wild hook but Huerta just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Saram gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Huerta raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roger Huerta!
