Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Karenst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Torjus Wiker!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Karenst throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Karenst throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wiker sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wiker takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Wiker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Karenst swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Wiker clinches.
Wiker is trying to drag Karenst to the mat but Karenst just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Karenst's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Wiker lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Karenst backwards.
Wiker works on Karenst's body with a couple of short punches.
Karenst tries for a takedown but Wiker manages to get underhooks.

Karenst tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wiker smiles and moves away.

and Wiker counters by clinching up.

Wiker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Karenst.

Wiker's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Wiker tries to land a sweep but no joy.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wiker is on top in guard.

Wiker's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Torjus Wiker wasn't active enough on the ground.

Karenst throws a looping overhand right but Wiker ducks down to avoid it.

and Wiker counters by clinching up.
Wiker scores with a hook to the body.
Karenst tries to pull guard but Wiker holds him up against the cage and eventually Karenst drops back down to his feet.

Wiker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Karenst. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Karenst drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wiker looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wiker looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wiker!
Wiker remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wiker throws a strike aimed at the side of Karenst's head but Karenst avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karenst postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wiker is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Karenst, into his guard.
