Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lamar Jacobson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Johnsson! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnsson throws a sloppy head kick and Jacobson moves out of range easily. Jacobson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Johnsson sprawls well initially but Jacobson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Jacobson is tying to control. Johnsson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Johnsson wants to improve his position but Jacobson is controlling well.
Jacobson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Jacobson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Johnsson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jacobson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Johnsson wants to control the action here but instead Jacobson manages to pass to full mount! Johnsson tries to lock up and control but Jacobson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Jacobson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Jacobson trying to control but Johnsson is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobson looking to control and managing it successfully. Jacobson is in the full mount, landing strikes. Jacobson is landing with some decent strikes but Johnsson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Jacobson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Johnsson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Jacobson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
