Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Victor Prince Gapuz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Drennan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gary Drennan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Victor Prince Gapuz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gary Drennan!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gapuz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Drennan circles away.
Drennan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Drennan scores with a kick to the body.
Gapuz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gapuz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Drennan tries to avoid it but Gapuz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Drennan to the ground. Drennan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Drennan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Drennan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Drennan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Drennan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Drennan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Drennan gets to his feet. Gapuz looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Gapuz moves in looking to clinch but Drennan pushes him off.
Gapuz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Gary Drennan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Drennan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gapuz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Drennan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Gapuz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drennan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gapuz's guard.

Gapuz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Drennan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Oh but Gapuz is tightening it up a little... Drennan has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Drennan reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Drennan taps out! nice BJJ there by Gapuz!
