Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lance Jackson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fortune Cookie!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Cookie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jackson wants to clinch but Cookie slips to the side

and Cookie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jackson won't be happy with that.
Jackson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cookie is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Jackson gets back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson trying to hold on to Cookie's head to control him but Cookie postures up.
Cookie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jackson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Cookie is controlling the pace.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because Lance Jackson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Jackson has his takedown stuffed

and Cookie decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jackson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson working for a triangle but Cookie defends it easily.

Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Jackson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cookie is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Cookie wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fortune Cookie wasn't active enough on the ground.

Cookie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cookie lands in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fortune Cookie dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jackson moves to clinch but Cookie breaks away

and Cookie moves into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Jackson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Cookie's brow.

Cookie gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Jackson tries to roll over but Cookie keeps him under control.
Cookie is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Jackson has his hands clasped together around Cookie's back. He's all about the action.

Lance Jackson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
A nice inside leg kick there by Cookie. That's going to slow Jackson down.

Jackson moves into range and clinches up with Cookie.
Jackson throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Cookie lands a shot to the body.
Cookie effectively controlling the action here.

Cookie works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cookie tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard.
Cookie wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cookie is one step ahead there.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fortune Cookie was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Jackson rushes Cookie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cookie tries to circle away but Jackson has him pinned against the cage.

Cookie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jackson looks for a takedown but Cookie sprawls well.

Jackson darts in and clinches Cookie up against the cage.
Jackson throws an elbow but it misses.

Cookie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jackson tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Cookie counters with a left to the body.
Cookie circles away from the clinch attempt

and Cookie counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jackson!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jackson is looking to improve his position but Cookie isn't that keen on the idea.
Jackson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Cookie controlling the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fortune Cookie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fortune Cookie was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Cookie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jackson was covering up waiting for the punch and Cookie finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Cookie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Fortune Cookie is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lance Jackson.
Cookie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.

and Cookie counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard.
Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fortune Cookie wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Cookie counters with a straight right hand.
Jackson fails with the takedown
and Cookie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lance Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jackson closes the distance but Cookie moves to the side

and Cookie counters by moving into the clinch.
Cookie is trying to drag Jackson to the mat but Jackson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Jackson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Cookie's brow.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jackson is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fortune Cookie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cookie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
