Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Ngo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tappy McOut! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McOut lands a lovely overhand right.
It looks like Henry Ngo has been cut. McOut changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. McOut looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Ngo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. McOut trying to control the position from guard on top but Ngo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ngo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Ngo keeping moving, preventing McOut from controlling successfully. McOut scores with a decent looking elbow strike. McOut looking to sit in guard and control but Ngo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. McOut wants to get back to his feet but Ngo is in a dominant position and won't allow it. McOut bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ngo's guard. McOut working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. McOut landing with the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McOut accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. McOut wants to control from the top but Ngo keeps moving. McOut throwing strikes but missing. Ngo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. McOut won't allow Ngo to sweep him here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. McOut postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Ngo looking to hit a scissor sweep but McOut is one step ahead there. McOut postures up in Ngo's guard and throws a big left but Ngo blocks it. McOut stands and steps away. Ngo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. McOut manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ngo on his heels. He'll look to pass Ngo's guard now, I'm sure. McOut scoring with punches to the head and body. Ngo is breathing heavily. McOut pushing down on Ngo's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. McOut thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. McOut uses his free foot to push down on Ngo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ngo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McOut working away from the top, dropping strikes. McOut is in the full mount, landing strikes. Ngo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. McOut lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McOut cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
McOut landing strikes from the mount and Ngo is in trouble! McOut with good strikes from the mount here! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McOut lands a nice shot to the head. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McOut cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Ngo is rocked! McOut quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for McOut but it's paid off an Ngo is forced to tap! Nice work by McOut.
