Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kazuki Kobayashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Quincy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kobayashi comes to the cage accompanied by Mars - The Bringer of War. The crowd seem to be enjoying Quincy's choice of entrance music: Requiem for a Dream. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kazuki Kobayashi! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Damien Quincy! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quincy scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Quincy misses with a hook to the body
and Kobayashi counters with a head kick. That will keep Quincy thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Quincy checks the leg kick nicely there.
Quincy throws a sloppy head kick and Kobayashi counters with a nice uppercut. Quincy misses with a takedown attempt - Kobayashi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Damien Quincy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Quincy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kobayashi sees it coming and avoids it easily. Quincy dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Quincy throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kobayashi on the side of the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kobayashi.
A slow jab from Quincy misses its intended target. Kobayashi gets caught napping as Quincy dives in and scores a takedown. Kobayashi manages to retain guard. Quincy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kobayashi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kobayashi has escaped and now he's on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Quincy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Quincy controls Kobayashi momentarily but Kobayashi frees himself. Quincy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kobayashi defends well. Quincy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Quincy is looking for a triangle but Kobayashi pushes his legs off easily.
Quincy throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kobayashi uses it to pass to side control.
Kobayashi working away. Quincy is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Quincy tries to roll over but Kobayashi keeps him under control. Quincy throws a strike from the bottom but Kobayashi passes into side control!
Quincy can't do much from the bottom here. Kobayashi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Quincy on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quincy is looking to reverse the position. Quincy is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kobayashi's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Quincy moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Quincy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Quincy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Quincy is trying to control the position but Kobayashi postures up. Kobayashi preventing the sweep. Quincy has Kobayashi pulled in close to control his posture. Kobayashi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Quincy throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Quincy tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kazuki Kobayashi dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Quincy throws a right hand that Kobayashi ducks under and follows up with a left that Kobayashi also avoids with ease. Kobayashi misses with a straight left. Quincy throws a sloppy head kick and Kobayashi counters with an inside leg kick. Quincy throws a poor cross that misses
and Kobayashi counters with a big head kick but Quincy shrugs it off. Kobayashi dodges the punch combination from Quincy.
Quincy throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kobayashi counters with a low kick, right behind Quincy 's knee. Quincy dives in and grabs Kobayashi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kobayashi pushes down on Quincy's head and hops out. Quincy misses with a head kick.
Quincy looks to score with a jab to the body but Kobayashi is just out of range. Kobayashi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Kobayashi misses with a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quincy throws a hook but Kobayashi avoids it easily. Quincy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kobayashi circles away. Quincy misses the shot to the body. Quincy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Quincy misses with a hook
and Kobayashi counters with a good low kick that Quincy was not able to check. Quincy is breathing heavily. Kobayashi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. The fighters circle momentarily. Quincy darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Kobayashi throws a low kick but Quincy avoids it. Quincy swings away with a body shot that misses
enabling Kobayashi to counter with a crisp jab. Kobayashi tries a head kick but it misses.
Quincy swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kobayashi counters with a head kick that wobbles Quincy - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Kobayashi sends him down. This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kazuki Kobayashi! Kazuki Kobayashi retains his lightweight title!
