Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mateus Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Akainu Sakazuki!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen shoots and misses
and Sakazuki makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Allen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Sakazuki is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Allen shoots for a double leg takedown but Sakazuki sprawls well. He's pushed Allen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Sakazuki might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Allen kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sakazuki is on top in guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Akainu Sakazuki hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Allen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sakazuki's guard.

Sakazuki wants to take a breather but Allen is having none of it.
Allen wants to get back to his feet.
Sakazuki seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Allen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Allen is staying active underneath Sakazuki, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Akainu Sakazuki wasn't active enough on the ground.

Allen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sakazuki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Allen is looking to escape.

Allen somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Sakazuki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Allen shoots in looking for a takedown but Sakazuki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Allen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Allen has his takedown stuffed

and Sakazuki counters with a nice double leg into side control. Allen won't be happy with that.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Allen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
