Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joey Shabadoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Shepherd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shepherd has chosen Head Like A Hole - Nine Inch Nails as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joey Shabadoo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Frankie Shepherd!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shepherd fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shabadoo manages to avoid it.
Shepherd tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Shabadoo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shepherd sprawls well. Shepherd wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shabadoo gets slowly back to his feet.
Shepherd misses with a wild body shot.

Shabadoo avoids the body shot from Shepherd.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shabadoo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Shepherd is looking to control Shabadoo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shepherd avoid being mounted?

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Shepherd throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Shabadoo counters with a right hand to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Shabadoo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shepherd won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shepherd is looking to regain half guard here but Shabadoo keeps moving and retains side control.
Shepherd manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shabadoo.
Frankie Shepherd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shabadoo is working for a guillotine from mount but Shepherd frees his head quite easily.

Shepherd bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shabadoo's guard.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Shepherd lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shabadoo has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shabadoo and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

and Shepherd counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Shepherd drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shabadoo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shabadoo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shabadoo!

Well Shabadoo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
