Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Vera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pancho Pantera!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pantera bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Vera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ground and pound from Pantera seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Vera tries to buck Pantera off but Pantera is having none of it.

Vera takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Pantera throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Pantera is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vera knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pantera remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Vera avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Pantera.

Pantera is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Vera looks calm but he's in trouble here. Pantera gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Vera is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Pantera lets go of the hold and Vera can pop his arm back in it's socket.
