Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chimal doesn't succeed with the takedown
and McPain counters with a nice body shot.
Chimal tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and McPain cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chimal gets a double leg takedown into McPain's guard.
Chimal wants to control from the top but McPain keeps moving.

Chimal closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McPain's guard.
McPain keeping moving, preventing Chimal from controlling successfully.
Chimal would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Chimal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McPain swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Chimal has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McPain is proving hard to escape from.

McPain lands a really nice looking cross but Chimal seems unphased.
A looping hook to the body misses from McPain. Chimal does a little dance to reset his feet.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Chimal uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McPain.
McPain bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Chimal's head.

McPain throws an overhand right that lands on Chimal's shoulder, as Chimal tries to avoid the shot.
McPain comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and McPain counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

That was a close second round but I would say that Armando Chimal will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

McPain is pressed up against the cage. Chimal has hold of a leg and is looking to drag McPain down to the mat. McPain avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

McPain throws a hook but Chimal avoids it easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chimal takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
McPain lands an overhand right.
A lazy left from McPain finds it's target.
Chimal dives in and grabs McPain's left leg, looking for a takedown. McPain pushes down on Chimal's head and hops out.
McPain scores with a nice strike.

and McPain counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McPain connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Chimal's hands.
Chimal tries a head kick but it misses.
McPain feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Chimals jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

McPain throws the left hand but Chimal avoids the punch easily.
Chimal closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
McPain paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Matthew McPain seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Chimal tries for a takedown but McPain sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
