PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Stryfe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jafar Agrabah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Stryfe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jafar Agrabah!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Agrabah pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Agrabah rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stryfe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Agrabah misses with a head kick.
Agrabah throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stryfe throws a head kick that misses.
Stryfe slips under a jab from Agrabah.
Stryfe waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Agrabah.
A head kick by Agrabah misses

and Stryfe counters by clinching up.
Agrabah using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Stryfe has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Agrabah looking for a takedown.
Stryfe has had enough of the clinch but Agrabah keeps him there for the moment.

Stryfe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stryfe throws a looping overhand right but Agrabah ducks down to avoid it.
Stryfe's corner calls for a 1-2. Stryfe obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stryfe is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Agrabah.
Agrabah throws an off balance right hand
and Stryfe counters with a left and a right that stings Agrabah.
Stryfe misses with a double jab
and Agrabah counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Stryfe scoring well with a low kick there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Agrabah throws an off balance right hand
and Stryfe counters with a stiff right hand.
Agrabah throws a sloppy head kick
and Stryfe counters with a left to the body.
Stryfe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Agrabah.
Agrabah throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Stryfe counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Agrabah throws a sloppy head kick and Stryfe moves out of range easily.
Stryfe lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Stryfe.


Agrabah is rocked!
Stryfe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jafar Agrabah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Agrabah falls off balance throwing a combination
and Stryfe counters with a head kick.
Agrabah looks gassed!
Agrabah throws a shot from downtown. Stryfe moves away and avoids it.
Agrabah misses with a left hand
and Stryfe counters with a stiff right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Agrabah connects with a good right hand that stumbles Stryfe. Stryfe circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Agrabah throws an overhand right that lands on Stryfe's shoulder, as Stryfe tries to avoid the shot.
Agrabah pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Stryfe has Agrabah up against the cage in a clinch.
Agrabah looking to throw knees to the head but Stryfe is blocking nicely.

Stryfe breaks from the clinch.
Agrabah blocks a head kick by Stryfe.

Stryfe clinches.
Agrabah tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Stryfe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Stryfe takes the fight into the clinch.
Agrabah throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Stryfe blocks it with crossed arms.
Stryfe prevents the takedown attempt.
Nathan Stryfe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jafar Agrabah.
Agrabah misses with some punches.
Stryfe wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Stryfe breaks the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Agrabah jumps guard but Stryfe stands there with Agrabah around his waist. Agrabah gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Agrabah tries for a takedown but Stryfe manages to get underhooks.

Stryfe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stryfe lands a high kick!
Stryfe scores with a kick to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A solid leg kick lands there for Stryfe.
Stryfe connects with a body shot.
Stryfe tries to close the distance and clinch but Agrabah swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Agrabah lands a jab to the head.
Agrabah's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Agrabah duly obliges.


It looks like Nathan Stryfe has been cut.
Agrabah swings widly with a right hand
and Stryfe counters with a flying knee. Nice.
A head kick by Agrabah - that's a beauty! Stryfe is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Agrabah can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jafar Agrabah!
