And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeff Sobchak !
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson shoots in and drives through. Sobchak sprawls well.

Stevenson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sobchak tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Stevenson is in Sobchak 's guard.
Sobchak keeping moving, preventing Stevenson from controlling successfully.
Stevenson wants to stand but Sobchak has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Stevenson drops back looking for a leg! Sobchak is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sobchak manages to kick Stevenson off! Stevenson jumps back into Sobchak 's guard.

Stevenson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sobchak looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sobchak looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sobchak !
Stevenson throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Sobchak grinds an elbow into Stevenson's temple.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Sobchak cracks Stevenson with a big right hand but Stevenson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Stevenson tries to buck Sobchak off but Sobchak is having none of it.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Stevenson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sobchak is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sobchak has escaped and now he's on top!

Sobchak avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sobchak missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Sobchak tries to free his leg and advance position but Stevenson is retaining full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stevenson wants to improve his position but instead Sobchak has moved into half guard.
Stevenson misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Stevenson trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Sobchak dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Stevenson with a lazy takedown attempt
and Sobchak counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Stevenson is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Sobchak throws a head kick but Stevenson moves out of range.

Sobchak forces Stevenson back against the ropes and clinches.
Sobchak tries to land a knee to the head but Stevenson blocks with his arms.
Sobchak throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Stevenson blocks it with crossed arms.
Sobchak throws a knee to the head but misses.
Stevenson takes a knee right on the jaw!


It looks like Greg Stevenson has been cut.

Stevenson breaks from the clinch.
Stevenson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Sobchak counters with a head kick that drops Stevenson - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sobchak moves nicely into side control.
Sobchak creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Stevenson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Sobchak looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stevenson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sobchak lands a nice short elbow.
Sobchak working over Stevenson with some ground and pound. Stevenson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Stevenson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sobchak pulls his head out easily.
Sobchak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stevenson keeps working.
Sobchak throwing shots but Stevenson is blocking nicely.

Sobchak thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stevenson's head.
Stevenson wants to get back to his feet.
Stevenson is refusing to be controlled, as Sobchak sits in half guard.
Sobchak slips a nice elbow through Stevenson's hands, connecting with Stevenson's forehead.
Sobchak passes to full mount!
Sobchak landing strikes from the mount and Stevenson is in trouble!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sobchak cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Sobchak loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Stevenson scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Sobchak land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Sobchak stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeff Sobchak ! Jeff Sobchak retains his heavyweight title!
