Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fresenius James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as John Wayne enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fresenius James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Wayne!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wayne misses with a looping right.
A punch combination from Wayne misses.
James just misses with a punch to the body.

James throws a poor cross that misses

and Wayne counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Wayne wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.
James on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if James tries to get out of the position.

James looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wayne is one step ahead there.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Wayne hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Wayne tries to lock up and control but James gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
James tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
James has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Wayne is looking to get to half guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Wayne dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Wayne is going oldschool here, as he tries to force James to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so James shrugs it off.

Wayne changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. James tries to avoid it but Wayne manages to keep hold of a leg and drag James to the ground. James escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
James ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
James throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Wayne throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. James was covering up waiting for the punch and Wayne finishes the takedown easily into guard.

James is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Wayne scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Wayne drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but James manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Wayne has James in his guard.
John Wayne has got the better of the ground game so far.
James postures up.

Wayne wants to stand up but James is controlling him.
James has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
James would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Wayne is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst James is controlling him.

James gets to his feet. Wayne looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Wayne needs to keep his hands up - James had a free shot at his head there.
Wayne shoots in looking for a takedown. James tries to sprawl out of it but Wayne keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. James manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wayne takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fresenius James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

and James counters with a lovely shot to the body.
John Wayne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
John Wayne is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
James lands with a nice body punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters circle momentarily. James darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
James takes a swing at Wayne's ribcage but misses.
James swings widly with a right hand
and Wayne counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fresenius James showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Wayne has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
