Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Tretiak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trey Tamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tamura throws a right hand that misses
enabling Tretiak to counter with a crisp jab. Tamura avoids the body shot from Tretiak.
Tretiak swings for the body but Tamura moves out of range.
Tamura lands a glancing blow to the side of Tretiak's head. Tretiak misses with a low kick. Tretiak misses the body punch and Tamura counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Tretiak throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Tamura counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A shot to the body from Tretiak misses and Tamura connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Tamura takes one to the side of the head.

Tretiak moves out of range of the strikes. Tamura doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Tamura shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tamura postures up in Tretiak's guard and throws a big left but Tretiak blocks it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tretiak is on top in guard.

Tamura looks gassed! Tretiak wants to pass the guard but Tamura is keeping the position. Tamura bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tretiak's guard. Tamura must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tretiak pulls Tamura in close to his closed guard and prevents Tamura from doing any damage or advancing position. Tretiak is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Tamura throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tretiak works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tretiak misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Tretiak can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tamura is looking to escape. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tamura is wriggling around trying to escape.

Tamura misses with a left hand and Tretiak counters with a nice uppercut. Tamura lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Tamura looks to land a right hand but Tretiak moved out of range. Tamura checks a leg kick. Tretiak comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Tamura tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Tretiak counters with a lovely shot to the body. Tamura is breathing heavily. Tretiak scores with a shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Tretiak misses the target. Tretiak lands a body shot.
Tretiak closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tamura quickly recovers to half guard. Tretiak wants to work for an arm triangle but Tamura is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tretiak is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tamura is just riding it out for now. Tretiak eventually gives up the hold. Tretiak is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tretiak lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Tamura hang on? Tamura keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Tretiak working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Tretiak wants to finish this one by submission but Tamura is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tretiak. This has been an exciting period of action! Tretiak pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Tretiak has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tamura's face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tamura reaches up to try and control the position but Tretiak seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Tamura rolls and tries to escape and now Tretiak has his back!
Tretiak has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Tamura has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Tretiak is looking for the choke from the back position but Tamura is controlling his hands well. Vladimir Tretiak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tretiak missing with punches from the back. Tamura trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Tretiak lands an elbow to the side of the head. Tretiak scores with punches from the back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tretiak is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Tamura has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. This has been an exciting period of action! Tretiak looking to break Tamura's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Tamura remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Tretiak will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Tretiak is not going to allow Tamura to sit and survive in this position. Tamura is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Tretiak off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tretiak looking for the choke from the back. Tamura tries to roll but Tretiak sticks to his back.

and Tretiak connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Tamura takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Tamura displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tretiak. Tretiak changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tamura looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Tretiak wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tamura, who protects the arm well. Tamura manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tretiak's best efforts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tamura keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Tamura wants to improve his position but Tretiak is controlling well.
Tamura is pressing down on Tretiak's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Tamura working for a triangle but Tretiak defends it easily.
Tretiak slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Tretiak tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tretiak has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tretiak thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. An elbow from Tretiak crashes against the mat.
Tretiak is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tamura has escaped the position, nice work there. Tretiak is trying to ground and pound but Tamura uses the momentary lack of control by Tretiak to regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tretiak sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tamura defending well though. Tretiak trying to control from half guard but Tamura is working away. Tretiak is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Tamura regains full guard. Nicely done. Tretiak wants to pass the guard but Tamura is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Tamura cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Tretiak scores with a nice strike. Tretiak looks to land a left hand but Tamura moved out of range nicely. Tretiak lands a really nice looking cross but Tamura seems unphased.
Vladimir Tretiak is winning the standup battle so far. Tretiak with a lazy takedown attempt and Tamura counters by moving into the clinch. Tretiak prevents a takedown attempt there.

Tretiak looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Tamura jumps guard but Tretiak stands there with Tamura around his waist. Tamura gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Tamura is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Tamura tries to work over Tretiak's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tamura has had enough of the clinch but Tretiak keeps him there for the moment. Tretiak is looking to break free of the clinch but Tamura has double underhooks. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Tretiak takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Tretiak is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Tamura tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Vladimir Tretiak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trey Tamura. Tretiak breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Tamura uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tretiak's guard. Nice move by Tamura! Tretiak has control of Tamura's left arm, preventing Tamura from doing any damage.

Tamura trying to control the position from guard on top but Tretiak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tamura is squirming around, avoiding Tretiak's attempts to control the action.
