PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbie Brawler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robbie Brawler!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brawler keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brawler throws a series of punches but King avoids them all with ease.
Brawler walks into a left hand.
King misses with an uppercut
and Brawler counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. King is lucky that one didn't land flush.
King sizes up Brawler with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
King misses with a hook

and Brawler holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

King pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
King jabbing away but nothing is landing.

and Brawler counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

King has had enough of the clinch but Brawler keeps him there for the moment.

King wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Brawler tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and King avoids it.
Brawler blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Brawler successfully pulls guard.
King tries to stand but Brawler is controlling from the bottom.
Brawler manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. King manages to get himself to full guard.
King on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if King tries to get out of the position.
King keeping moving, preventing Brawler from controlling successfully.
Brawler works over King with some ground and pound from guard.

Brawler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. King swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brawler is in close to King's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Brawler is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Brawler trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brawler pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. King is keeping the position for now.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Brawler in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
King looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Brawler sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed King's guard.
Brawler lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Brawler drops an elbow to the side of King's head.

Brawler throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Brawler thows a huge punch but King dodges it nicely.

Brawler is sneakily working for an arm triangle but King sees it coming and defends easily.
Brawler lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Brawler missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
King is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Brawler scores with a couple of nice shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robbie Brawler dominated that round.
That's time! King's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


King throws a right hand that misses
and Brawler counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
King throws a head kick but Brawler moves out of range.
King misses with a left hand
and Brawler counters with an inside leg kick.

Robbie Brawler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
King misses with a lunging right hand
and Brawler counters with a nice body kick.
King stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Brawler.
King throws an off balance right hand
and Brawler counters with a lovely straight right hand!
King rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Brawler counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brawler throws a leg kick but King sees it coming and checks it nicely.
King rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Brawler connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
King misses with the body kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Brawler fails to land with a series of punches.
Brawler fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ray King is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brawler steps to the side to avoid the strikes from King.
Brawler scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Ray King has been cut.
King throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Brawler counters with a one-two to the body.
King misses with a head kick.
King lands the left hand.
King swings widly with a right hand
and Brawler counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
King misses with a lunging right hand

and Brawler counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brawler moves nicely into side control.

King on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Brawler has an Americana. King didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Brawler is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Brawler hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
