The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Castrogiovanni.
Castrogiovanni bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Aldo's head backwards.
Castrogiovanni tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Aldo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Aldo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Aldo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Aldo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Castrogiovanni is in all sorts of trouble here.
Castrogiovanni is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Aldo looking to secure an arm triangle but Castrogiovanni defends it well.

Aldo is working for a guillotine from mount but Castrogiovanni frees his head quite easily.

Aldo looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
