Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and frank owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Trevor Smith has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
owens steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Smith. That one must have hurt.
Smith misses with a kick to the body.
owens closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. owens pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Smith darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

owens is rocked!

It looks like frank owens has been cut.

Smith drags the fight down to the ground.
Smith wants to get back to his feet but owens is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
owens with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
owens working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Smith's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst owens is controlling him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

owens fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smith sprawls well initially but owens persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Smith pushes owens off looking to stand but owens dives back in and keeps control.
Smith trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
owens seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

owens closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

owens stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Smith to get to his feet.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, owens cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
