Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Don Dada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damon Rekker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Damon Rekker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Don Dada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damon Rekker!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rekker misses with a lunging right hand

and Dada counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rekker!

Dada looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Dada controlling from the full mount.
You get the feeling that Rekker really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Dada is stalling here but it's allowed Rekker to get half guard.

Rekker has one foot on Dada's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Rekker misses with a hook

so Dada counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Dada postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rekker is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dada, into his guard.

Dada is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rekker defends well.
Rekker wants to get up but he can't break Dada's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Dada has his foot on Rekker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rekker works his way back into a safe position though.

Dada really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dada is working an open guard so Rekker takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Dada counters with a takedown into side control.

Dada goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rekker rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dada's guard! Nice work there by Rekker!

Dada is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Dada is working an open guard so Rekker takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Rekker misses with a double jab

so Dada counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Dada will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rekker wriggles free and stands up.
Damon Rekker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dada postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rekker is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dada, into his guard.

Rekker is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Rekker has gone for a leg lock! Dada slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rekker's guard.

Dada postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rekker is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dada, into his guard.
Rekker wants to stand but Dada is controlling his posture from full guard.

Rekker has gone for a leg lock! Dada slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rekker's guard.

Dada stands and throws Rekker's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rekker is not content to let Dada control the position.
Rekker wants to get back to his feet but Dada drags him back down.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rekker is looking to get back to his feet here but Dada is keeping cool and he's managed to take Rekker's back.

Dada is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Rekker has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Dada dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Rekker misses with a double jab

and Dada counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Dada is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rekker is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rekker has escaped and now he's on top!

Rekker stands up from guard. Let's bang!

and Dada counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Dada tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rekker knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Dada seems to be looking for submissions.
Dada stops Rekker from getting back to his feet.

Dada seems to be working for a kimura but Rekker defends the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dada wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rekker keeps working.

Dada is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Rekker to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Dada drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rekker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dada has Rekker in his guard.
Rekker wants to stand and escape but instead Dada has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dada trying to control but Rekker is working from the bottom.

Dada is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rekker is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rekker has escaped and now he's on top!

Rekker gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Rekker throws an off balance right hand

and Dada counters with a takedown into side control.

Dada wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rekker, who protects the arm well.

Dada goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rekker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dada but great work by Rekker.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rekker has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Rekker misses with a hook

and Dada counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rekker's guard now.
Dada wants to control from the top but Rekker keeps moving.
Dada stops Rekker from standing up.

Dada drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rekker dives on top into guard.
Don Dada overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rekker stands and steps away. Dada gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Dada counters with a shoot takedown. Rekker fights it but they end up in guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dada drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rekker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dada has Rekker in his guard.

Dada drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rekker dives on top into guard.

Dada has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rekker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rekker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Dada counters with a takedown into side control.

Dada swings around for an armbar but Rekker sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dada's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rekker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dada, up you get!

Dada jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rekker is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rekker and Dada has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Dada goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rekker rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dada's guard! Nice work there by Rekker!

Dada tries to free his leg and advance position but Rekker is retaining full guard.
Rekker keeping moving, preventing Dada from controlling successfully.
Rekker manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Rekker looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Dada is wriggling around trying to escape.
Damon Rekker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rekker stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Rekker is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Dada dives in and grabs Rekker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rekker pushes down on Dada's head and hops out.

And that's the end of the fight!
Don Dada showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dada, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
