Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Demon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Murphy could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jin Demon's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jin Demon!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demon tries to clinch but Murphy moves away

and Murphy counters by moving into the clinch.

Murphy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Demon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Demon scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Murphy doesn't seem bothered though.
Demon shoots for a double leg takedown but Murphy sprawls well. He's pushed Demon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Demon tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Murphy counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Demon!
Murphy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

You get the feeling that Demon really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Demon is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Murphy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Demon tries to improve his position but instead Murphy has taken his back!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Murphy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Murphy really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Demon.

Murphy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Demon moves away.
Demon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Demon looks to land a combination but Murphy avoids it well.

Demon looks to land a left hand but Murphy moved out of range nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Demon throws a push kick but Murphy slaps the foot to one side.

and Demon counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Demon throws a left and a right that both miss

and Murphy counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Demon tries to break the clinch but Murphy is controlling the position.
Demon fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Murphy prevents a takedown attempt there.

Demon tries to break free but Murphy pushes him back against the cage.
Demon wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Murphy has him pressed against the cage.

Murphy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Demon lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Murphy takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

enabling Murphy to counter with a crisp jab.

and Murphy counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Murphy.

Demon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Murphy fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Demon checks it well.
Demon misses with a combination

and Murphy counters by clinching up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Murphy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Demon takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Murphy rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Demon counter with a right hand.
Murphy throws a predictable looking body shot
and Demon counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Demon misses the shot to the body.
Murphy cracks a nice hook into Demon's ribs.
Demon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Murphy circles away quickly and effectively.
A right-left combo lands from Demon.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jin Demon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Demon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Demon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Murphy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Demon closes the distance and clinches up with Murphy, looking for a takedown. Demon pushes Murphy against the cage but Murphy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Murphy has Demon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Demon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Murphy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No luck for Demon with that takedown attempt.

Demon avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jin Demon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Demon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Murphy misses with a right hand
and Demon counters with a three punch combo that has Murphy backing up. Murphy nods at Demon to acknowledge the strikes.


It looks like Daniel Murphy has been cut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Demon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Murphy clobbers Demon with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Demon throws a combination that misses

and Murphy moves into the clinch.

Demon is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Murphy is defending well for now.
Demon goes for a takedown attempt but Murphy pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
