The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oripoularis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Armstrong counter with a right hand.
It looks like Alexander Oripoularis has been cut.
Oripoularis feints and as Armstrong raises his hands in defense, Oripoularis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Armstrong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Oripoularis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Oripoularis makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Armstrong manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Oripoularis manages to get himself to full guard.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Eddie Armstrong hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Oripoularis counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Oripoularis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Oripoularis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Oripoularis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Armstrong throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Armstrong holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
