Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cage Gyles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shake Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cage Gyles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shake Jones! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Gyles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cage Gyles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gyles looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jones fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gyles. Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gyles sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Jones stops Gyles from getting back to his feet.
Gyles is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gyles gets back to full guard.
Jones wants to control from the top but Gyles keeps moving. Gyles wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him. Gyles is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gyles looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gyles kicks Jones off and gets to his feet. Gyles tries for a takedown but Jones circles away easily and Jones counters with a slapping leg kick. Gyles is breathing heavily. Jones scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Some wild striking there from Gyles.
Jones throws a hook to the side of Gyles's head but Gyles sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jones feints and then cracks Gyles's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gyles down. Gyles closes the distance but Jones moves to the side and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones. Gyles is trying to break free. Jones jumps guard and drags Gyles to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Gyles gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Jones throws a nice head kick!
Gyles doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jones counters with a good low kick that Gyles was not able to check.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones takes the fight into the clinch. Gyles jumps guard but Jones stands there with Gyles around his waist. Gyles gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cage Gyles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gyles wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Gyles changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jones fights it off and pushes away nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gyles with a poor takedown and Jones counters with a low kick, right behind Gyles 's knee. Jones misses with a low kick. Gyles shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jones takes a shot right to the bread basket. Gyles throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gyles drops Jones with a left and a right! Oh, Jones is hurt - Gyles dives into side control looking to finish!
Jones is rocked! Gyles with the ground and pound but Jones regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Jones is still in real trouble! Can Gyles finish him? Jones is trying to control but can't.
Jones seems to have recovered his senses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones kicks off Gyles and gets to his feet. Jones circles away from the clinch attempt and Jones counters with an outside leg kick.
Gyles throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jones decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Gyles lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Gyles throws a left that rocks Jones and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Gyles dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Jones regain composure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones gets back to half guard. Gyles tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jones knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Jones wants to control but Gyles is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gyles sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Jones defending well though. Jones wants to get back to full guard. Gyles missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jones manages to escape and get back to his feet! A chopping leg kick lands by Jones. Gyles throws a left and a right that both miss
so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gyles is looking to stand back up but Jones counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Gyles. Jones advances to full mount. Jones is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gyles throws a sloppy head kick and Jones counters with a good low kick that Gyles was not able to check. The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shake Jones dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Gyles looks to clinch and Jones counters with a head kick. That will keep Gyles thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Gyles tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jones. Gyles manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
Gyles throwing strikes but missing. Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Gyles trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jones's guard. Jones preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jones is breathing heavily. Gyles stops Jones from standing up. Jones keeping moving, preventing Gyles from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones looking to control.
Gyles has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gyles trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gyles shoots and misses and Jones holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Jones breaks the clinch.
A punch combination from Gyles misses. Gyles misses the jab. Gyles gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jones pushing down on Gyles's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Gyles looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Gyles is in trouble now - Jones has advanced to mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gyles bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Gyles has gone for a leg lock! Jones slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gyles's guard. Gyles manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
Gyles throwing strikes from guard but Jones blocks nicely. Gyles drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Gyles off! Gyles jumps back into Jones's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gyles postures up and lands a big shot to Jones's brow. Jones keeping full guard, as Gyles tries to pass. Gyles slips nicely into half guard. Gyles is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jones defends it well. Jones is not content to let Gyles control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gyles thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Jones to regain full guard. Jones working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Gyles has passed into half guard!

Jones is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Gyles is trying to escape and Jones transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Gyles is forced to tap! Nice work there by Jones! Very nice indeed!
