Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chad Heister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kunichiwa Japan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chad Heister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kunichiwa Japan!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heister drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Japan pushes Heister off and scrambles back to his feet.

Japan shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Japan trying to advance position but Heister counters by regaining guard.
Heister working a defensive guard here.

Japan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Japan throws a big shot that misses.
Japan walks into a straight right hand from Heister.


It looks like Kunichiwa Japan has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Japan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Heister but Heister pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Japan throws a head kick that misses.

Heister shoots in and gets a takedown into Japan's guard.
Japan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Heister.

Japan kicks Heister off and gets to his feet.

Heister feints and as Japan raises his hands in defense, Heister changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Japan looks gassed!

Heister stands up from Japan's guard - Heister perhaps looking for a knockout.

Heister fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Japan sprawls well initially but Heister persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Japan has hold of Heister's hands but Heister slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Heister missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Heister controlling the action here.
Heister thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Japan wants to get back to his feet.
Heister knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Japan on the ground.

Heister thows a huge punch but Japan dodges it nicely.

Heister wants to stand up but Japan has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Heister controlling the pace.
Heister stops Japan from getting back to his feet.
Heister is controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Chad Heister just wasn't active enough.

Heister drops his shoulder and cracks Japan with a huge uppercut! Japan goes down! Can Heister finish him?


Japan is rocked!
Heister has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Heister throwing strikes from guard but Japan blocks nicely.
Japan being controlled here, momentarily.
Heister trying to control the position from guard on top but Japan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Heister postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Japan wants to stand but Heister is controlling the position.

Heister drops back looking for a leg! Japan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Japan manages to kick Heister off! Heister jumps back into Japan's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Kunichiwa Japan's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Heister is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Japan's half guard.
Japan is trying to stand back up but Heister is controlling him
Heister wants to stand up but Japan has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Heister bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Japan! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Japan is still in real trouble! Can Heister finish him?
Heister controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Japan keeping moving, preventing Heister from controlling successfully.
Japan seems to have recovered his senses.
Japan wants to get back to his feet but Heister is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Heister trying to control but Japan is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chad Heister.

Heister closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Japan quickly recovers to half guard.
Heister is controlling the pace.

Heister is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Japan sees it coming and defends easily.
Chad Heister overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Heister moves into full mount! Japan won't be happy about that!
Japan is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Heister really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Heister tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Heister thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Heister is in the full mount, landing strikes.


That has opened up Kunichiwa Japan's cut even more.
Heister is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Japan can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Japan taking shots to the head.


The cut above Kunichiwa Japan's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Heister wants to control the pace but Japan is squirming around nicely.
Heister controlling from the full mount.
You get the feeling that Japan really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Heister looking to control and managing it successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Heister is landing with some decent strikes but Japan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Heister goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Heister shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Heister showed some decent athleticism there.
Heister looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Japan has one foot on Heister's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Heister drives through with a takedown into Japan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Heister passes Japan's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Japan is trying to stand.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Heister trying to pass the guard but Japan defending well.
Heister seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Japan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Japan wants to get back to his feet.
Heister perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Heister will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Heister can't keep his opponent in guard - Japan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Japan seems to be looking for submissions.

Heister is defending against the submission attempts here by Japan.
Japan is pressing down on Heister's thigh, looking to free his foot. Heister is holding on for now.

Heister is looking to escape.
Heister trying to control from the bottom.
Japan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Japan is thwarting Heister's attempts to control the position.

Japan decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Japan walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Heister shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Japan trying desperately to get to his feet.
Heister is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Japan can do to turn this around?
Heister throwing strikes here but Japan is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Heister controlling the position easily from mount.

Heister jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Japan is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Japan and Heister has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chad Heister showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Heister has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
