Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Fedorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richey Spinnet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aleksandr Fedorov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Richey Spinnet! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spinnet rushes Fedorov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A frustrated look appears on Spinnet's face as he tries to break the clinch. Fedorov tries to pull guard but Spinnet holds him up against the cage and eventually Fedorov drops back down to his feet.
Fedorov wants a takedown but no success here.
Fedorov tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleksandr Fedorov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Spinnet is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Spinnet tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Spinnet lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Spinnet stops a takedown attempt from Fedorov.

Spinnet breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Spinnet throws a hook but Fedorov blocks it. Spinnet throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Spinnet lands a lovely overhand right. Spinnet misses with a right hand and Fedorov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Spinnet won't be happy with that. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spinnet can do anything to dispel that myth. Fedorov controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fedorov moves into full mount! Fedorov sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Fedorov content just to control the position here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fedorov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Fedorov stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Spinnet darts in and clinches Fedorov up against the cage. Fedorov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spinnet is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Fedorov is trying to force a seperation but Spinnet has the dominant position. Fedorov working aggressively here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Spinnet breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Spinnet lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Fedorov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Spinnet defends it nicely. Spinnet drives through and clinches with Fedorov against the cage.

Fedorov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Spinnet misses the body punch so Fedorov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Fedorov with a flurry of punches that miss. Fedorov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Fedorov stands and steps away. Spinnet gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fedorov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Spinnet swings for the body but Fedorov moves out of range.
Spinnet tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Fedorov counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fedorov content to control rather than advance. Spinnet keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Spinnet looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aleksandr Fedorov dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Spinnet throws out a loose jab but Fedorov uses good head movement to avoid it. Spinnet with a jab. Spinnet closes the distance looking to clinch and Fedorov counters by moving into the clinch. Fedorov tries to pull guard but Spinnet won't allow it.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Fedorov takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Fedorov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spinnet is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleksandr Fedorov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fedorov has Spinnet pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Spinnet manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Fedorov is trying to break the clinch but Spinnet has him pressed against the cage.

Spinnet looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Fedorov jumps guard and drags Spinnet to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Fedorov wants to sweep here but Spinnet controlling him for the moment. Fedorov pulls Spinnet in close to his closed guard and prevents Spinnet from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Aleksandr Fedorov wasn't doing enough on the ground. Spinnet wants to clinch but Fedorov slips to the side and Fedorov counters with a single leg into guard. Spinnet didn't expect that. Spinnet keeping moving, preventing Fedorov from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fedorov stands up and waves to Spinnet to follow him. Spinnet lands a jab to Fedorov's midsection. Spinnet wants to clinch and Fedorov counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Fedorov with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fedorov stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Spinnet connects with a good right hand that stumbles Fedorov. Fedorov circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Fedorov takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Spinnet cracks Fedorov with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Fedorov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Spinnet but Spinnet pushes him off and we're back to square one. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fedorov has a takedown stuffed. Spinnet is looking to take this fight into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fedorov trying to control but Spinnet is working from the bottom. Fedorov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Fedorov stands up and waves to Spinnet to follow him. Spinnet looks to clinch and Fedorov counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Spinnet! Fedorov stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Richey Spinnet has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Spinnet tries to clinch but fails miserably and Fedorov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fedorov. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Spinnet keeping moving, preventing Fedorov from controlling successfully. Spinnet utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Fedorov wants to control from the top but Spinnet keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Aleksandr Fedorov wasn't doing enough on the ground. The fight moves into the clinch position. Spinnet throws a punch but it's blocked by Fedorov. Fedorov breaks from the clinch.

and Fedorov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Spinnet's guard. Fedorov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Fedorov wants to control from the top but Spinnet keeps moving. Fedorov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Fedorov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Spinnet can do to turn this around?

Spinnet really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fedorov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Spinnet has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fedorov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Spinnet takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Fedorov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that's the end of the fight! Aleksandr Fedorov showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fedorov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
