Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eatsa Pasta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Chaves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pasta's entrance music is Kids by MGMT. A fine choice. The key to victory for Eatsa Pasta has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chaves ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pasta moves away.
Pasta tries to clinch but Chaves moves out of range.
Pasta tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chaves swivels and escapes.

Chaves clinches with his opponent.
Pasta stalls.

Chaves breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Chaves counters with a slapping leg kick.

Chaves scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Pasta is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pasta wants to get back to his feet.
Pasta trying to control here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chaves is taking a breather. Pasta says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Pasta pushes Chaves off looking to stand but Chaves dives back in and keeps control.

Pasta wants to control but Chaves is keeping busy.

Chaves is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Pasta has managed to free his arm - good work.
Pasta is trying to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Chaves counters with a straight right hand.

and Chaves counters with a nice low kick that buckles Pasta's knee momentarily.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eatsa Pasta. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pasta is breathing heavily.
Pasta is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Pasta wants to stand but Chaves is controlling the position.
Pasta tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pasta has momentary wrist control but Chaves slips an elbow through the middle.
Chaves slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Pasta prevents Chaves from moving into mount.

Chaves decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pasta to his feet.

Chaves shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chaves wants to take his opponent's back but Pasta doesn't allow it.

Chaves is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Pasta has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Chaves moves to back control.

Chaves is cranking Pasta's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Pasta! He's tightened the choke and Pasta is tapping out!
