Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blades closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Timmay's guard.
Timmay looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Blades is looking to work some ground and pound but Timmay has wrist control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Michael Blades hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Blades looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Timmay!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Blades shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Blades was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blades takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Timmay knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Blades on the ground.

Blades has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Blades is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Timmay to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Timmay shrugs it off.

Blades is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Blades fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Timmay, pushing him back against the cage.

Timmay is fighting off a takedown attempt but Blades is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Timmay to the mat. Timmay regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Blades drops back looking for a leg! Timmay is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Timmay manages to kick Blades off! Blades jumps back into Timmay's guard.
Blades not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Timmay will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Michael Blades wasn't active enough on the ground.
Blades lands with a kick to the temple. Timmay shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

and Blades counters with a nice double leg into side control. Timmay won't be happy with that.
The ground and pound from Blades seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Michael Blades showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Timmay blocking the ground and pound attempt from Blades.
Blades uses his free foot to push down on Timmay's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Timmay.
Timmay wants to try and get back to his feet.
BOOM! Blades connects with a massive shot to the dome!

You get the feeling that Timmay really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Blades has control of Timmay's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Timmay regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Poor strikes thrown by Blades there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Blades is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Timmay can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Blades lands a big shot there that rocks Timmay but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Michael Blades is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Let's hope that Blades has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well Blades has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
