Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Summers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kim Jong Dong! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Summers connects with an inside leg kick. Summers throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Summers tries to clinch but fails miserably and Jong Dong counters with a single leg into guard. Summers didn't expect that. Jong Dong stops Summers from standing up. Jong Dong advances position into side control! Jong Dong is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Jong Dong lands a nice forearm strike. This has been an exciting period of action! Jong Dong content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jong Dong working the ground and pound. Jong Dong wants to control but Summers is keeping him busy. A lull in the action here as Jong Dong stalls from top position. It looks like Jong Dong might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Summers is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jong Dong is controlling him well. Summers prevents Jong Dong from moving into mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jong Dong controlling the position from side mount. Summers is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Jong Dong controls the position from side control. Jong Dong moves into full mount! Jong Dong working away from the top, dropping strikes. Jong Dong raining down hammerfists from mount. Summers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jong Dong lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Summers is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Summers is breathing heavily. Jong Dong controlling his opponent. Jong Dong lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Summers hang on? Summers is bucking up trying to escape but Jong Dong cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Jong Dong working away from the top, dropping strikes. Jong Dong lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Summers is bucking up trying to escape but Jong Dong cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Jong Dong looking to control and managing it successfully. Jong Dong postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Summers looks a forlorn figure.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jong Dong controlling from mount. Jong Dong lands a big shot there that rocks Summers but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jong Dong controlling his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jong Dong with a poor takedown and Summers counters with a nice leg kick. Summers fails to land with a series of punches.
Summers tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jong Dong counters with a shoot takedown. Summers fights it but they end up in guard. Jong Dong working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Summers's head. Summers wants to stand up but Jong Dong is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jong Dong content to stall in guard here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Summers wants to get back to his feet but Jong Dong is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jong Dong works over Summers with some ground and pound from guard. Jong Dong showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Kim Jong Dong has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kim Jong Dong has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Jong Dong throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Summers tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jong Dong is in Summers's guard. Jong Dong trying to control but Summers is working from the bottom. Jong Dong slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Jong Dong postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jong Dong controls from within his opponent's guard. Jong Dong throwing strikes from guard but Summers blocks nicely. Jong Dong's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Kim Jong Dong has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Summers tries to clinch and Jong Dong counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jong Dong. Jong Dong stays in close to Summers's body and controls the position. Jong Dong is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Summers keeping moving, preventing Jong Dong from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Summers being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kim Jong Dong wasn't active enough on the ground. Summers throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Jong Dong looks for a takedown but Summers sprawls well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jong Dong looking for a takedown here - he's got it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kim Jong Dong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
A head kick misses from Summers. Jong Dong keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Summers. Jong Dong with a lazy takedown attempt and Summers counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jong Dong thinking. Jong Dong has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Summers tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jong Dong counters with a single leg into guard. Summers didn't expect that. Both fighters are breathing heavily. That's one minute gone in the round. Jong Dong advances to mount. Jong Dong lands with some strikes. Summers is trying to stand. Jong Dong controlling his opponent. Summers is in a horrible position here. Jong Dong smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jong Dong controlling from the full mount. Jong Dong unloading with bombs! Jong Dong is in the full mount, landing strikes. Jong Dong controlling the position easily from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dave Summers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
OK we're going to have a standup here. Kim Jong Dong hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Summers defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jong Dong.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jong Dong shoots in for a double leg but Summers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Dave Summers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kim Jong Dong. Jong Dong gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Summers counters with a thumping low kick. Summers misses with a few strikes there.

And that's the end of the fight! Kim Jong Dong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Jong Dong winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
