Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Charles Handly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Handly's entrance music is You Dropped a bomb on me. A fine choice. Melendez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. El Coo Cooi kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Charles Handly has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melendez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Handly.

Handly wants to stand up but Melendez is controlling him.

Melendez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Handly is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Handly has escaped and now he's on top!

Handly has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Handly accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Handly slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Melendez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Handly is one step ahead there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Melendez gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Handly counters with a series of strikes. Melendez will be more careful next time no doubt.

Melendez looks for a takedown but Handly sprawls well.

Handly drives through with a takedown into Melendez's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Melendez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Melendez has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Handly should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Melendez has tightened it up now! Handly should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
