Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Champ Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Brashear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Champ Bailey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Donald Brashear!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brashear throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bailey's waist but Bailey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brashear off to one side.

Brashear misses with a leg kick

and Bailey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brashear won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on Brashear's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Brashear is looking to regain half guard here but Bailey keeps moving and retains side control.

Bailey has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Bailey punishes Brashear's body with a nice straight punch.
Bailey shoots and misses
enabling Brashear to counter with a crisp jab.
Bailey takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Brashear throws a one two combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brashear drives through and clinches with Bailey against the cage.
Brashear wants to break free but Bailey has control.
Brashear jumps guard but Bailey stands there with Brashear around his waist. Brashear gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Brashear tries to pull guard but Bailey won't allow it.
Champ Bailey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donald Brashear.

Brashear leaves Bailey with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bailey closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Brashear quickly recovers to half guard.
Brashear wants to sweep but Bailey has passed to side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bailey is looking to take a break and control but Brashear is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Brashear has closed the distance and engaged Bailey in a clinch.
Bailey unloads a knee to the mid-section. Brashear lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Bailey is pulling down on Brashear's head. It's preventing any offense from Brashear, at least for the moment.

Brashear really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bailey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Brashear decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bailey's guard.
Bailey is breathing heavily.
Brashear wants to stand and escape but instead Bailey has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Brashear looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bailey is one step ahead there.

Bailey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brashear has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bailey has managed to get both his arms back between Brashear's legs - danger averted.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Brashear feints and as Bailey raises his hands in defense, Brashear changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Brashear drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bailey dives on top into guard.
Bailey sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Brashear's guard.

Bailey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brashear does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Brashear is trying to get back to full guard.
Bailey seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Brashear has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bailey is working away from the top position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
No luck for Brashear with that takedown attempt.
Bailey tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Brashear manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Donald Brashear showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Brashear shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bailey defends it nicely.
Brashear wants to clinch up but Bailey keeps it at a distance.
Brashear has his takedown stuffed
and Bailey counters with a one-two to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bailey is defended easily by Brashear.

Brashear shoots in looking for a takedown but Bailey manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brashear's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Brashear shoots for a takedown but Bailey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bailey throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Champ Bailey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brashear accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Brashear must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bailey working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brashear doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brashear manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Brashear wants to control from the top but Bailey keeps moving.
Brashear postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brashear throws a big right hand that misses.
Brashear tries to free his leg and advance position but Bailey is retaining full guard.
Bailey wants to get back to his feet but Brashear is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bailey escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brashear gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brashear is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

And that's the end of the fight!
Champ Bailey showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Bailey has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
