Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Calvin McCork (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuan Ip Mung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCork's entrance music is Great Balls Of Fire By The Killer Himself. A fine choice. Chuan Ip Mung is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Calvin McCork!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuan Ip Mung!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Mung.
McCork has his takedown stuffed
and Mung connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
McCork with a poor takedown
and Mung counters with a lovely shot to the body.
McCork misses with a takedown

and Mung counters with a takedown into side control.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Calvin McCork. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McCork tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mung wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mung in side control lands a decent elbow.
Mung cracks McCork with a big right hand but McCork just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Mung trying to control the action but McCork is working from the bottom.
Mung misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCork on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
McCork manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

McCork is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mung pulls his head out easily.
Mung working the head and body with strikes.
Mung trying to control the action but McCork is working from the bottom.
McCork tries to get to full guard but Mung has control of the leg.

Mung landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

McCork looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
McCork moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Mung got a little sloppy there for a moment and McCork has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mung has managed to get both his arms back between McCork's legs - danger averted.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mung postures up in McCork's guard and throws a big left but McCork blocks it.
Mung postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Mung working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of McCork's head.

McCork working for a triangle but Mung defends it easily.
McCork keeping moving, preventing Mung from controlling successfully.
Mung stopping the sweep attempt from McCork.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mung looking to sit in guard and control but McCork gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
McCork slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

McCork working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Mung is trying to improve his position.
McCork sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mung is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
McCork postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

McCork tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
McCork working the strikes but Mung uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Mung really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCork. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

McCork is looking for a kimura here.
Mung is trying to maintain the position but McCork is very close to passing his half guard.

McCork is looking for a kimura but Mung is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McCork to get the leverage.
McCork is pressing down on Mung's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mung is holding on for now.
Mung is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuan Ip Mung dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A slow jab from Mung misses its intended target.
Mung throws a poor cross that misses
and McCork makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
McCork takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Mung closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McCork tries to bench press Mung off him but Mung keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mung is working McCork over with some ground and pound from side control.
Mung working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
McCork tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McCork manages to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mung lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

McCork has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Mung. Oh but McCork has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Mung goes limp - he's gone! McCork jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Calvin McCork!
