Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Hogin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashur Syrian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is real american. Ashur Syrian has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ashur Syrian!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Syrian shoots and misses
and Hogin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Syrian throws a hook to the side of Hogin's head but Hogin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hogin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Syrian swings away with a body shot that misses
and Hogin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Syrian thinking.

Hogin throws the left hand but Syrian avoids the punch easily.
Ashur Syrian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hogin throws a lazy right hand but Syrian sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hogin sizes up Syrian with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Hogin throws a hook to the side of Syrian's head but Syrian sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hogin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Hogin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Syrian's head.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Syrian can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hogin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That's time! Hogin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Syrian has his takedown stuffed
and Hogin counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hogin throws a body punch but Syrian moves out of range.

and Hogin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hogin digs a right hand into Syrian's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Syrian's gas tank.

Hogin presses Syrian against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
A short body shot lands from Hogin as the two fighters clinch.
Syrian's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Syrian tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hogin smiles and moves away.
Hogin connects with a single shot there.

Syrian avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Syrian ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hogin misses with a body shot.
Hogin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well Hogin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
