Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andy Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Skerlik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bernard comes into the arena with My Highlights blaring out of the sound system. Andy Bernard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andy Bernard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Skerlik! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernard closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bernard blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Skerlik throws a punch but it's blocked by Bernard. Bernard on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Skerlik tries to work over Bernard's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Skerlik misses with a punch to the body.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bernard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Bernard pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Skerlik looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Bernard! It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Bernard flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Bernard is squirming around, avoiding Skerlik's attempts to control the action.
Skerlik goes for an armbar but he's not got it� Bernard turns into him and now he's in Skerlik's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bernard working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bernard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Skerlik preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bernard throwing strikes from guard but Skerlik blocks nicely. Skerlik is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bernard is aware though and is defending well. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Nick Skerlik will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Bernard will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Skerlik up against the cage. A right handed body shot lands from Skerlik.

Bernard clinches up with Skerlik and pushes him back against the cage. Bernard's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Bernard gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Bernard blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Skerlik taking a breather. Bernard prevents a body shot from Skerlik. Bernard blocks a body shot from Skerlik. Bernard dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Andy Bernard. Bernard tries a head kick but it misses.
Skerlik gets a double leg takedown into Bernard's guard. Skerlik passes Bernard's left leg - he's now in half guard. Bernard misses with some strikes from the bottom.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Nick Skerlik will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Bernard gets control of Skerlik's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bernard will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Bernard keeping full guard, as Skerlik tries to pass. Bernard doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Skerlik prevents Bernard from standing back up.
Skerlik seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bernard does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are battling for position here. Bernard manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Skerlik trying to control the position from guard on top but Bernard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Bernard controls Skerlik momentarily but Skerlik frees himself. Bernard keeping moving, preventing Skerlik from controlling successfully. Bernard is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Skerlik drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bernard looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bernard looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bernard! Skerlik tries to bench press Bernard off him but Bernard keeps the position. Bernard working the ground and pound from side control. Nick Skerlik is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Nick Skerlik has got the better of the ground game so far. Bernard in side control, throwing shots but Skerlik defends.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Skerlik struggling a bit here. Bernard throwing shots but missing, from side control. Skerlik defending against the ground and pound. Bernard misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Bernard throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Bernard is working Skerlik over with some ground and pound from side control. Skerlik takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The ground and pound from Bernard seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Bernard creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Skerlik sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Bernard working the ground and pound but Skerlik is defending the strikes. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bernard misses with the ground and pound. Bernard working the strikes but Skerlik uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Bernard thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Andy Bernard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bernard throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Andy Bernard showed his dominance in that final round. I think Skerlik has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
